This concept was developed by people who are said to be broad-minded people. This means that living together in a relationship does not require the recognition of marriage. This relationship says that the trust between the two is enough. People who are in live in relationship will get married if they want, otherwise they will live without any expectations. It was resisted by many as it was new to Indian tradition and is still resisted today. But it depends on one's personality when discussing whether it is right or wrong. And it is a fact to be accepted that we can understand each other better only when we live together.

There are certain rights and obligations under Indian law that normally take place in a marriage. Live in relationship is new to the Indian legislature so there are no such rights and obligations in this relationship. People who have it have more chances of having children because they have sex before marriage. Children born like this are seen by the society as having no right to inheritance. Apart from that, the social view of children born like this is unfair. In 1978, in a ruling, the Supreme Court said for the first time that such relationships would go. The law says that age, mental capacity and mutual consent are sufficient.

People today follow different types of lifestyles. What prevails in any relationship is the understanding between the two. Whether the Indian couple is married or in a live-in relationship, violence against women still occurs in some cases. In the Domestic Violence Act, the Act provides protection for those who are defined as "relationship in the nature of marriage" without specifying marriage. Under Section 125 of the Criminal Procedure Code, a man is held guilty if he fails to provide proper protection and maintenance to a woman.

Children safety and Live in relationship:

Although the couple in live in relationship is currently in a relationship, there is no guarantee of their relationship in the future. The law says that the children born of such a relationship have a legal right to their ancestral and proprietary rights. A law has been made in India that couples living in a live-in relationship can adopt children if both have physical, mental and financial stability.
